What Screening Room collects

Screening Room has no accounts of its own, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. We don't build a profile of you or of how you use the app.

When you sign in with Frame.io, the app receives an OAuth access token. That token is stored on your headset and is used only to talk to Frame.io on your behalf. Light Sail VR never receives your token, your Frame.io password or your media.

The media you stream or download, and the comments and review statuses you create, travel directly between your headset and Frame.io. Files you download for offline playback are stored on your headset.

Voice dictation

If you dictate a comment instead of typing it, your speech is converted to text by Meta's speech recognition service. The resulting text becomes your comment and is sent to Frame.io like any other note. Screening Room doesn't record, keep or send us your audio.

Dictation only runs when you start it. If you never use it, no audio leaves your headset. Meta's privacy policy covers how Meta handles voice input.

Crash reports

If Screening Room crashes, Meta's platform may send a crash report to Meta, which makes it available to us through Meta's developer tools. A crash report typically includes the app version, headset model, operating system version and technical details of the error. It doesn't include your Frame.io token, your media or your comments.

We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs. You can manage diagnostic data sharing in your headset's settings.

Third parties

Frame.io, an Adobe service, hosts your projects, media and comments. You sign in on Adobe's own sign-in page, and everything the app reads or writes goes to Frame.io under your account. Adobe's privacy policy covers how Frame.io handles that data. Screening Room is not affiliated with Frame.io or Adobe.

Meta operates Meta Horizon OS, the Meta Horizon Store, the speech recognition used for dictation, and crash reporting. Meta's privacy policy covers what Meta collects in those roles.

We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

This website

This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and our own pages don't set cookies.

Like most websites, it's served by a hosting provider that may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them.

The Feedback page is powered by UserJot. If you post an idea or vote there, UserJot stores what you submit, along with any name or email you choose to give, and may use cookies or local storage to remember you. That page loads UserJot's script only when you visit it. UserJot's privacy policy covers that data.

Data retention

Your Frame.io token stays on your headset until you sign out from the bottom bar, which deletes it, or uninstall Screening Room. Downloaded media stays on your headset until you remove it from Manage Downloads or uninstall the app.

Comments and status changes live in Frame.io and follow your Frame.io account's retention, not ours. Crash reports are kept according to Meta's retention for developer diagnostics.

If you email us, we keep that correspondence only as long as we need it to help you, and then delete it.

Security

Screening Room talks to Frame.io only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and your token stays in the app's private storage on your headset. No system is perfectly secure, but because we don't collect your data, there is very little of it for us to lose.

Children

Screening Room is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

International users

Light Sail VR is based in the United States. Frame.io, Meta and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

Because the app doesn't send us personal data, there is usually nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. You can remove everything Screening Room stores by signing out and uninstalling it. To access or delete data held in Frame.io, use your Frame.io account settings or contact Adobe. For data held by Meta, use your Meta account settings.

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. If you believe we hold data about you, such as an email you've sent us, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Screening Room handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, such as collecting a new kind of data, we'll also note it in the app's release notes before it takes effect.
